Cheerleaders
The Cheerleaders series began as a series of gifts in the mid 2000s. Finding very little artistic justification to produce new paintings as art, I did find reason to produce new paintings as gifts. Thus was born the Cheerleaders, given to friends as "Thank you's" or salutes.
The Cheerleaders font, not designed by me, is commercially available and originally purchased for signage and promotional materials for the Kinda Figurative exhibition at HEREart.

Facebook birthdays provided a forum for a new Cheerleaders series, the jpegs. The cheerleaders are posed in a leafy backyard against a Hamtramck frame house, and posted on friends' pages for their birthdays. The jepgs are now available as a series of photo prints and kitschy products.
